2012 Garden

Spring is planting time! Our vegetable garden of the past years had fallen into disrepair. The old fence finally just wore out and fell down so our former garden turned into our dog's territory and a rather sad home for a few straggling plants.  A new garden fence was needed to keep the new plantings separated from him.

We have been working hard on clearing out the old plants and weeds. Robert built a new fence and we've added mulch to get the soil into condition. Now it is ready for planting which will be the fun part! We plan on putting in several varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, lettuces, lots of different herbs, bell peppers and swiss chard.

  2. What a well-organizes garden. Great job! Maybe I could borrow Robert to set up my old garden, which has totally overgrown? :)

  3. Well he certainly has experience with clearing out the overgrown after our mess! This is the first time he's ever helped with that all the time I had a garden except with building the first fence. It was only three foot high but kept out our dog Lucy at that time. With Frasier, we needed a more massive fence since he had it for his territory!

  5. Me too! Still have to buy all the plants. Today it's raining like crazy here so getting the plants will have to be delayed! Maybe this weekend!
