Shirley Pettibone

I think of Shirley Pettibone often and miss her very much since her passing last year in February. Her paintings are amazing and I am fortunate to own three of her watercolors. I took semi-private watercolor classes with Shirley in her studio for several years and was influenced by her more than any other artist. Through the years she was always supportive of my art and remained a dear friend.

"Black Swans Floating", 30"x40" Oil

"Floating Flowers 5", 16"x24" Watercolor

"Found Garden 3", 20"x20" Monotype

Shirley Pettibone is represented by George Stern Fine Arts.

  2. What a truly amazing artist she was. How wonderful that you got to experience her teachings personally. I can see her influence in your beautiful paintings. So very sad that the art community lost her too soon, but she will live on in the breathtaking paintings she left us to enjoy.

    1. It really was sad to lose her, but you are right, she really did leave an extensive body of work that has touched many people. She lived her life fully doing what she wanted to do.
